What is online content analysis

Online Content Analysis shares the same principles and operating procedures of the traditional content analysis. The difference is: certain steps of online content analysis assisted by the Internet and big data technology, as presented in the blue boxes below:

(1) Build up sample pool and clean data on DiVoMiner®. Perform data sampling if necessary, with multiple sampling methods, such as random sampling;

(2) After setting up the coding category, you can set and amend the codebook on the platform. Multiple functions such as skipping questions can be set to improve the codebook and the coding procedures;

(3) Before formal coding, train the coders and carry out a pretest, then inter-coder reliability will be calculated automatically. Coding can officially begin when the reliability reaches an acceptable level.

(4) Manage the whole coding process and monitor data quality easily; automatically calculate the final results, with visualized presentation.

Process of online content analysis:

DivoMiner® big data text-mining and content analysis platform, uses big data technology to assist online content analysis. It consists of four major phases in operation: preparation, exploration, online content analysis (coding and quality control), and results presentation:
